Being a Product of Grace
What if I told you, every good thing in your life...you didn't deserve?
Well in fact, this is true. The best thing that could ever happen in our lives, eternal salvation, we did not deserve. Born as sinful beings into an imperfect world, we only realize perfection and wholeness when we accept the only One who is perfect, Jesus Christ. Of course, we could never be perfect in the world's eyes, but God has already made it so that we were fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.
As image bearers of God, we have the unique authority over the Earth that was given to us by the Almighty. And the problem? Most of us don't walk in it. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord, including the gift of dominion. But as with everything else, we humans have perverted what was meant to be perfect.
Okay, Kamille, what does all of this mean? It means we are not bound to anything. We are not bound to perversion. It means that we have a choice. It means that cycles do not control us and through the perfect power gifted to us by God, we have the power to break them. And it starts with us. We don't have to listen to our minds, our emotions, or our bodies. When we walk in God's authority, they must listen to us. We are not destined to continue generational curses. When we walk in God's authority, they must end with us. But, it is burdensome to try to do it on our own.
As a former "perfectionist" I struggled with the idea of not having control and that things would somehow be imperfect if I didn't have my hand on it. It turns out, it was quite the opposite. As a daughter of God, it is an everyday process for me to learn to relinquish my control, because God's perfect will is only truly acheived when we put it in His hands, not our own. What's more? Grace stands in the gap.
Perfectionism says nothing is okay unless everything is exactly the way it should be. Grace says everything is okay even if nothing is exactly the way it should be.
Lord knows things in my life have not always gone exactly how I thought they should. But glory be to God for grace! I can truly write this and say that I am a product of grace. I am far from perfect, but I serve a perfect God, who has time and time again stood in the gap for me, given me grace, and caused things to go perfectly, something I could never do on my own. Will you allow Him to multiply your life and make you a product of grace?
